CLAAS presents new ARION 5 CMATIC series

20260902133537_1146754-27

Alongside the six-cylinder ARION 6 CMATIC range, CLAAS is introducing three new ARION 5 CMATIC four-cylinder tractors as successors to the ARION 500 series. Three compact, manoeuvrable models with a continuously variable, power-split CMATIC transmission cover a power range from 140 to 180 hp maximum output and are suitable for versatile agricultural use in fields, on grassland, on roads and around the farm. Behind the modern look of the new CLAAS tractor range, CLAAS has combined an efficient, sophisticated power train with state-of-the-art, future-proof solutions for digital machine and farm management in the new ARION 5 CMATIC.
The four-cylinder concept, optimised for performance, efficiency and driving comfort and featuring a durable CMATIC gearbox, combined with comfort-enhancing features in the fully-suspended cab and the PROACTIV front axle suspension, delivers a premium driving experience across all areas of operation. Thanks to CEMIS 1200, CEMOS DIALOG driver assistance and CLAAS connect, state-of-the-art digital solutions for precision farming, process optimisation, machine and task management, as well as documentation, can be utilised, thereby providing relief to the driver in day-to-day operations.

Smart power train for stress-free working with optimised efficiency.

All three models in the ARION 5 CMATIC series are powered by a dynamic 4.5-litre four-cylinder engine delivering up to 180 hp and a maximum torque of up to 730 Nm at 1,500 rpm. They therefore represent a compact, manoeuvrable, lightweight and extremely versatile alternative to the ARION 6 CMATIC series, which also comprises three models with a longer wheelbase and covers a power range from 145 to 205 hp maximum output. Particularly noteworthy is the top-of-the-range model, the ARION 5.180 CMATIC, with a ‘genuine’, permanently available maximum power output of 180 hp and a power-to-weight ratio of just 42.8 kg/hp. Its favourable ratio of engine power to operating weight makes it a high-performer in many areas – from powerful loading cycles with a front loader (in exclusive wheel loader mode) through to harvesting forage with a front-rear mower combination, four-rotor rake or round baler, right through to handling tillage and sowing implements with working widths of 3.0 to 5.0 m. This versatile all-rounder also impresses during transport work thanks to its continuously variable 50 km/h (at 1,490 rpm), optimally tuned PROACTIV front axle suspension and the state-of-the-art comfort and safety features of the CMATIC gearbox.

Developed and built by CLAAS Industrietechnik, the CMATIC gearbox impresses with its highly efficient power train management and is designed for a long and trouble-free service life. In addition to first-class load responsiveness and optimisation of engine characteristics and gear shifting, it features functions such as the automatic trailer overrun brake and the unique wheel loader mode for front loader operations. Furthermore, the power train management system is equipped with adaptive drivetrain management. Thanks to the algorithm-controlled ‘AUTO LOAD ANTICIPATION’ function, load spikes when lowering tillage implements are detected in advance, and the engine speed is proactively increased – whilst simultaneously adjusting the transmission – before the load spike occurs. This ensures stable handling even during dynamic changes and prevents drops in engine speed. Further functions regulate engine speed and gear shifting depending on load and driving speed. This ensures that the required power is delivered under all conditions of use, whilst optimising fuel consumption and delivering uncompromising performance. The result is highly dynamic yet fuel-efficient driving behaviour, without the need for manual input or action from the driver.
The result: improved performance in the field and on the road, greater safety during transport operations, and full traction even when working with a front loader. The long wheelbase and the ARION 5 CMATIC’s balanced weight distribution ensure uncompromising power transfer to the ground and unrestricted operation even with heavy attachments.
The CEMOS DIALOG operator assistance system is also available as an option for the ARION 5 CMATIC. Based on self-learning algorithms, it works in dialogue with the driver to optimise area output and efficiency during field work, and assists with correct ballasting and tyre pressure.

Working at a premium level: a comfortable suspension system and a quiet cab.

Numerous comfort features, such as the PROACTIV front axle suspension and the quiet, fully-suspended cab of the ARION 5 CMATIC, work together to ensure stress-free and fatigue-free working, even on long days. The controls are clearly laid out for intuitive operation, and with the CMOTION multifunction lever, the driver has not only the driving controls but also eight freely assignable function keys, as well as control of the rear linkage and CSM headland management, all within easy reach of one hand – without having to change grip.
A new premium driver’s seat with a massage function, semi-active suspension and seat climate control is available for the ARION 5 CMATIC. On long working days involving extended periods in the driver’s seat and little change in posture – for example, during tillage or sowing – the massage function promotes the driver’s well-being and concentration, reduces muscle tension and thus supports good health. In addition, a new high-end multimedia system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and DAB+ is available for the ARION 5 CMATIC. The settings and monitoring of parameters in areas such as hydraulics, the rear linkage, ISOBUS-UT or even CEMOS DIALOG are carried out intuitively and clearly via the integrated CEBIS terminal – now fitted as standard – in the right-hand armrest. Access and input are via either the touchscreen or a rotary control.

For precise track guidance using the GPS PILOT CEMIS 1200 as an intuitive steering terminal, the optimum reference lines can be planned in advance in CLAAS connect based on the field boundaries and sent to the machine online as a job, or – as is now also possible – shared directly from machine to machine – for example, from the ARION 5 CMATIC with a four-rotor rake to the JAGUAR forage harvester following behind. The new automatic reference track change function automatically identifies the appropriate or logical reference track based on the vehicle’s position and direction of travel, and switches automatically between different reference tracks. This means that, for example, when switching to headland reference tracks or when working on wedges with a different reference track, the driver does not need to intervene to switch these manually – a significant reduction in workload.
During field work, the optional dynamic steering system provides relief to the driver. The number of steering wheel turns is roughly halved from one steering stop to the other – a noticeable benefit, particularly during tight turning manoeuvres at headlands.
What’s more, a new lighting concept featuring up to 20 LED lights and new step lighting on the cab access steps turns night into day when needed, making getting on and off the machine in the dark a safe affair.

From machine management to Precision Farming: digitally connected via CLAAS connect.

From machine configuration, purchase processing, access to product documentation and the lubricant guide, through to maintenance planning and documentation, right up to cross-manufacturer fleet management, application maps and other smart farming applications: With just one CLAAS ID, CLAAS connect enables comprehensive connectivity for the new ARION 5 CMATIC too, featuring online task management and access from the office or via a mobile device whilst on the move. Basic features such as machine position, machine performance data, the lubricant guide and direct access to the CLAAS Parts Shop for ordering suitable wear and spare parts can be supplemented as required with the Farm connect, Fleet connect and Field connect licences:

  • Clear job management: Jobs are conveniently created in CLAAS connect and accessed on the CEMIS 1200. Jobs can be documented and managed directly on the machine.
  • Real-time information: Machine position and status, as well as current machine data, settings and performance figures, can be viewed on the go from anywhere. This enables, for example, easy navigation to the machine’s location. Furthermore, whilst tasks are being carried out, CLAAS connect informs the user how long the work in the field is expected to take – regardless of how many machines are currently working in the field.
